Bali has definitely a very open culture, the people here are super friendly, you wouldn’t believe it. Everybody is greeting me and smiling at me. It makes you feel so good and you can’t do anything else than smiling back.
It was a great choice to come here as the weather is just AWESOME, even though it was raining when I arrived. The only thing I wouldn’t have expected was that it gets dark very early around 7 to 8 pm.
My accommodation is also awesome with super friendly staff. I booked a cheap dormitory, it only costed 38€ for 5 nights, and the location os right at the sea and it has two swimming pools. I had the room almost to myself, as there it wasn’t peak season and the other guests stayed in double rooms. Another reason why it was so cheap, was that it was a three-hour car drive from the airport but they picked me up for only 30€.
It wasn’t a tourist area, so there wasn’t much going on but that was exactly the relaxing holiday I was looking for. And if you want to make a vulcano tour or a sightseeing trip, the staff here organizes everything.
I wanted to make a tour but unfortunately I hurt my foot so bad that I couldn’t. But again the staff was amazing. They brought me to the hospital & waited there, brought me back, served my food in front of the room, drove me to the hospital again two days later to check my wound, and even organised crutches for me. They were just awesome!

The accommodation was also a dive resort, so after talking to some other guests here, who came to dive, I chose to try it as well and it really was amazing. Swimming with the fish underwater is an unique experience, which I can totally recommend. Of course that was before I hurt my foot.😅
On my second day, I just swam in the ocean and the pool and did nothing else, it was super relaxing. So no matter if you want an action or relaxing holiday, Bali is a great choice for both. You can have a luxus vacation at a five-star hotel in Denpasar with all the typically tourist stuff or you can get out of your comfort zone and enjoy real life in a relaxing atmosphere.
