Bali The 2nd

This time I visited Bali with a friend. We arrived Monday night and stayed till Saturday morning. I was really looking forward to this for the nice weather to swim in the beach and finally finishing my diving license.

We stayed in the same accommodation like the first time I was in Bali because I was very happy with it. Unfortunately the Management there changed so it wasn’t the same. The food wasn’t fresh anymore, we could hear the sound of the microwave every morning. Actually the food was one of the main factors I went back to the same resort so I was really disappointed.

Luckily I knew a local from last time so he organised a lot of things for us.

On Tuesday we were just relaxing but then on Wednesday we woke up at 1.30am, drove to Mount Batur and did a Vulcano tour to watch the sunrise at 6.30am. We weren’t very lucky because it was pretty cloudy up there so we could only see the sun a little bit. After going down we went to Aloha Ubud Swing because my friend saw some pictures of a swing in Bali online. Honestly it looked more dangerous than it was but the view was stunning, Bali is such a beautiful green Island and it was pretty cool to swing with this amazing background. There were also nests to sit in and of course lots of photos taken.

After swinging we went to a coffee plantation which we imagined very big in our minds. But because there were loads of plantations next to each other visiting one seemed small which also was a good thing so we didn’t have to walk around too much after all the things we did already. We’re both not coffee lovers but it was very interesting to see how coffee, cocoa and tea was made and we could also try 14 different sorts of tea and coffee.

After that we went for lunch at a restaurant that had an incredible view to Balis stunning landscape. While eating I discovered a small waterfall in the distance and asked if there was any chance to reach it. Our guide asked the locals there and we could but I had to make some effort to talk my friend and our guide into it as we already had an exhausting day behind us. We went down but unfortunately there was no chance to reach the waterfall because there were too much bushes and plants. I was still happy we did it so I don’t have to ask myself in 1 year what if and we could also see Balis locals working on their fields.

Finally we drove home and enjoyed the sleep we really needed after this day.

On Wednesday I finished my diving license that I started the first time I visited Bali so now I can proudly call myself Open Water Diver. It is a great feeling to swim together with fish and discover ship wrecks. Anyone who loves the sea as much as I do I can recommend.

The rest of the week we just relaxed, I think we deserved it 😉

Bali is an incredible island to me especially for the lovely people living there. I’ve never been in any other country where the people were as nice as in Bali and the nature is so untouched. Bali – you have a place in my heart ❤
