26.12. 17:57It's been a while. It's been such a long time that it feels a little weird to write like this again. But only for a little bit. The more I write, the easier I find it. This year, I haven't travelled a lot. At least way less than last year. But even apart from... Continue Reading →
Goodbye 2024 – Hello 2025
Last year was the first time I set goals for the new year, and this year, I want to do the same. So let's start with the fun part and review last year's goals: More self care in terms of moving my body, working out, focusing on my mental health and regular massages to show... Continue Reading →
Volunteering in Valencia after DANA caused a disastrous flood
11 days after DANA caused a disastrous flood in Valencia, I go into the affected areas for the fourth time. The more often I go there, the more it seems to affect me. Physically and mentally. Guilt is just one of the many feelings I'm feeling whenever I come back from volunteering. Questions start to arise: Why did this catastrophe happen? How is it possible to live a normal life next to a war zone-like area? Did a movie just become a reality? How much more will I be able to handle?
Another trip to Austria
Yes, it's been a while. Life in Valencia keeps me busy. Well, I keep myself busy. Only when I moved here, I found out how much I truly missed the city life. As a young person who likes to explore new things, get to know new people, and just being outside, life in my small... Continue Reading →
A holiday in Austria
03.03.2024I'm sitting on the aeroplane to Austria. It's hard to think about my time in Valencia. I've only spent two months there, but it feels like I've been there for a year. I can't even believe that my South/North/Eastern Europe Road trip was only three months ago. To me, it feels like it's been forever.... Continue Reading →
Northern Europe Travel Diary Part Three
26.12. 22:31I wasn't lucky yesterday with the Polar lights. The forecast predicted less than 5% chance, so I didn't get up at night. Today, I drove to a very small town before heading to my next destination. It was behind mountains, and the drive there offered incredible views. One place looked like I had arrived... Northern Europe Travel Diary Part Two
23.12. 17:27I feel weird. This morning, I arrived in Iceland. The airport was very small, and if I thought Norway was expensive, I was wrong. There was a bus to the city centre (Flybus) for almost 30 Euros or public transport bus fo 15 Euros, but the latter only comes around every two hours on... Continue Reading →
Northern Europe Travel Diary Part One
16.12. 20:12My time in Vilnius was short, but even though I was lacking sleep after my adventurous arrival, I walked to explore the city centre after work. It's a lovely little place with beautiful buildings. As my accommodation was quite a distance outside the centre and I didn't have much time, I used public transport.... Continue Reading →
Southeastern Europe Travel Diary Part Eleven – Border Checks
12.12. 18:50It's been two hectic days, so where do I start? It already feels ages ago that I left Lviv, so it's hard for me to believe it's only been the day before yesterday. Considering everything that I went through in two days, you might understand. When I left Lviv, I informed my accommodation in... Continue Reading →
Southeastern Europe Travel Diary Part Ten
8.12. 19:51Day 2 in Ukraine, and it started with an air alert on my app around 7 a.m. I thought I'd take it seriously, despite what my host said yesterday. I got up and went to the window first to see what's going on outside, but it was normal early traffic. I put on my... Continue Reading →
Southeastern Europe Travel Diary Part Nine
3.12. 21:11Where do I start? I've been busy those last two days. Yesterday I met an American guy in the hostel and he joined me in visiting the famous Bran castle. It was a really nice castle, but for me personally, there was too much made-up stuff about the whole Dracula thing and it was... Continue Reading →
Southeastern Europe Travel Diary Part Eight
29.11. 21:34Another day done and dusted. I enjoyed another slow morning as it is my last day off for this week. For the first time of this road trip I took public transport to the city centre. I walked through the old town to my first stop: The National Museum of Romanian History. I was... Continue Reading →
Southeastern Europe Travel Diary Part Seven
26.11. 21:26Today was very adventurous. Last night, I was informed that my Airbnb in Kosovo for today got cancelled, so I had to adjust my plans. I found a different accommodation in Serbia, close to the border, and decided to only visit Kosovo for a day trip. My internet plan does not include Macedonia or... Continue Reading →
Southeastern Europe Travel Diary Part Six
21.11. 20:57Today was the first day of my trip that was less active. Before I work I went to a bakery and had breakfast. I also prepared my clothes for washing, as I'm planning to do that at my next destination, Thessaloniki. After I finished work, I walked around Igoumenitsa and discovered a few cute... Southeastern Europe Travel Diary Part Five
19.11. 21:11It's amazing how much happens in one day. How long one day truly can be. As I'm laying in bed writing these lines, today felt like at least a week long. First of all, I had such a bad night. It's been a very long time since I had something as bad as this.... Continue Reading →
