What does that mean?

I guess if you read that word you are so sure about its meaning.

I want you to think about your life. What was it today or last week that made you so angry? What was it that made you so sad? Why did you yell or cry? When was the last time you thought that life was unfair? Was it today? Last month?
I guess it wasn’t a long time ago.

Since I have moved back to Austria I was confronted with a lot of whining. It seems like this is the thing here. Something we love to do. Complaining. It’s what we love. And as much as I would like to deny it I have to admit the longer I’m here the more I start falling back into my old habits.

Think again.

There is one thing that changed. I travelled. Not only did I travel, I actually lived in another country. I met so many different people from different countries. Each and everyone is a unique human being.

But there are some differences between people I met.

Privilege.

Some of them are privileged and some of them aren’t.

What’s privilege to you?

Think again.

How about that you weren’t born in a poor country? That you weren’t born in a country with a bad health care system?
How about that you weren’t born in a war zone? Were you born in a country with clean water?

I hope that now is the time I got you to think.

What do you have?
A house? A car? A phone? An IPad?

Think again.

How about water, food, clothes, a family?

Now is the time that you should realize what a good life you have.

All I want for me, you and every other privileged person is that next time you start complaining about how unfair life is because you can’t afford the newest car or IPad, while other people can, think.

Think again.
